A Philosophy of Joy

My name is Luis and I live in Barcelona, a city where art is part of everyday life.

It was here that Pablo Picasso held his first exhibitions, where Antoni Gaudí transformed architecture into poetry, and where generations of artists have found inspiration between the Mediterranean light and centuries of craftsmanship.

Beyond Barcelona, Spain has nurtured one of Europe's richest ceramic traditions for hundreds of years, creating works that today belong in museums and private collections around the world.

Growing up surrounded by this artistic heritage taught me that beauty is not only something to admire, but something that quietly enriches everyday life.

Long before I became a ceramic artist, I studied Psychology. I was fascinated by the way emotions shape our lives and by how the smallest details can transform our mood and the atmosphere of the place we live. Eventually, I realised that what I wanted was not to analyse those emotions, but to create them.

That is how Miola Ceramics began.

Every sculpture starts as a single piece of the finest white clay and is shaped entirely by hand, without moulds or mechanical reproduction. No two expressions are ever exactly alike. Each carries its own quiet character, patiently brought to life over days of careful craftsmanship using the finest ceramic pigments and glazes.

Rather than creating decoration, I create companions. Small presences that bring warmth, personality and a sense of joy to the spaces they inhabit.

Each sculpture is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity, reflecting the time, care and craftsmanship devoted to every piece.

Alongside my collections, I also create bespoke sculptures, from beloved pets to wedding cake toppers and one-of-a-kind commissions, each crafted with the same dedication to artistry and timeless quality.

My hope is simple: that many years from now, someone will still walk past one of my sculptures and smile, just as they did the first day it arrived.
