The Storyteller's Mushroom
€200.00
Where I grew up, in Catalonia, northern Spain, autumn meant mushroom season.
For generations, people have wandered into the forests with wicker baskets in search of wild mushrooms. When I was a teenager, I loved doing the same.
There was one place I always returned to: a quiet corner of the woods overlooking a valley with the wonderfully mysterious name of Witches' Ravine.
Autumn there was always damp. A light drizzle hung in the air, the earth smelled of moss and fallen leaves, and every walk felt like stepping into an old fairy tale.
Some days I came home with my basket overflowing. On others, the forest decided to keep its treasures to itself.
Above the ravine rises a rocky outcrop from which you can see the entire valley. Far below, you can hear the gentle murmur of the stream winding through the trees. I sat there countless times, my basket full of freshly picked mushrooms, simply taking it all in.
The scent of mushrooms just cut from the forest floor is one of those memories that never leaves you.
For me, this sculpture beautifully captures what a morning spent foraging for mushrooms in Witches' Ravine feels like: the fairy-tale atmosphere, the peaceful stillness, the woodland mushroom... and the little mouse quietly pausing to enjoy the scent of it all.
Witches' Ravine.
I can't think of a more perfect name for a place that feels as though it belongs in a novel.
Every sculpture is individually crafted by hand, making each one subtly unique—a small work of art designed to bring warmth, personality, and a sense of wonder to your home.
