My love story
My name is Luis, and for the last ten years I have dedicated myself exclusively to ceramics and painting. Before that, I graduated in Psychology and Graphology, and worked in both professions.
Life is too short to do something you only half enjoy. So one day I left everything behind and travelled to Canada. I crossed the entire country from Vancouver to Quebec, and then continued on to New York.
I'm not going to say that journey changed me. I simply saw it as a chance to turn the page and begin a new chapter.
After six months of travelling, I returned to my hometown of Barcelona, on Spain's Mediterranean coast, and rediscovered my greatest passion from my younger years: art.
Looking back, perhaps it was inevitable. Barcelona has inspired generations of artists. It was here that Pablo Picasso held his first major exhibition, where Antoni Gaudí found endless inspiration in nature, and where craftsmanship continues to be part of everyday life under the magical Mediterranean light that bathes everything.
I painted, I drew, and one day I discovered ceramics.
It was love at first sight.
“In your hands I feel loved and appreciated,” the clay says to me.
“And with you, I feel fulfilled,” I reply, looking at it with the eyes of someone in love.
Such overwhelming passion led me to work every single day of the week. My creations were well received from the very beginning, and soon I was receiving orders from all over the world—from California to Australia and from Italy to England. Then one day, I started suffering from back and neck pain.
My physiotherapist said to me, “Luis, you can't spend all day working in the same position. It's terrible for your back.”
Since then, I invested in a height-adjustable desk and split my days between ceramics and painting with acrylics. Curiously, both activities feed one another. While I paint, my best ideas for ceramics appear. And while I sculpt, I find inspiration for new paintings.
Swimming and painting have given me back a strong, healthy back, and I continue my love story with clay just as passionately as on the very first day.
If the love you see in my creations speaks to you, I invite you to discover my work.
Every sculpture is entirely handmade by me, without moulds or machines, with meticulous attention to every detail. That is why every piece is different, unique, and impossible to reproduce exactly.
I also create bespoke commissions, including beloved pets, wedding cake toppers, and almost anything else you can imagine that carries a special meaning or emotion.
